This latest issue of IMMpress Magazine, which you are about to surely enjoy, examines several timely and important concerns regarding the future of our communities, nations, environment, and planet. These can be viewed as potentially dystopian, just in time for the holidays, but careful reading of this issue will instead leave you with a sense of measured hopefulness that should not only inspire but also strike a need for action by all.
I would like to congratulate the outstanding IMMpress editorial and production team and contributors for putting together another thoughtful and engaging issue. Also welcome Dario Ferri, who is joining Sintia Teichman as co-editor in chief, of this remarkable graduate student-led publication.
As we near the end of 2018, I wanted to share my best wishes to all for a wonderful new year, filled with utopian hopefulness. This reminds me, that I am also looking forward to working with all members of our Immunology community as we work to develop a new Strategic Plan for the Department of Immunology (2019-2023), which will build from our initial plan from 2014, and allow us to further enhance what is already a leading immunology program.
I hope you enjoy this issue, and importantly whether you are an alumnus of the department, or a prospective student, I really look forward to hearing from you.
