With the steadfast development of vaccines, the light at the end of the tunnel appears to be almost within our grasp. Are we finally moving into a post-pandemic world and what does it look like? The COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably and continues to present us with challenges in various realms. It has been a test of human resilience as we are faced with wave after wave of devastation and what feels like doom. We are forced to adapt to the new pandemic culture as we navigate an everchanging new norm. And on a macro level, the pandemic has also unearthed failing social structures that are further exacerbated by the disease, forcing us to re-examine the effectiveness of our current systems. But as the world slowly opens accompanied by the new generation of children born during the pandemic, can we really return to what it was before?
While the pandemic has brought upon chaos, it has also sparked changes and new lessons to be carried with us as we move forward. And that is the beauty of human resilience. The cover of this issue depicts the consumption of the world by the COVID-19 pandemic but also the gradual defeat of COVID-19 as we make another trip around the sun.
